Team Siser Song united to promote reproductive justice for all women and LGBTQ communities.
...grateful for groups like Sister Song who are dedicated to creating a culture of justice and inclusion for the most marginalized people in out society women of color and the LGBTQ community. As a physician I am saddened by the current state of health disparities in this country for women of color especially Native American women and African American women who are dying at 3-4 times the rate in childbirth as their white counterparts. Furthermore, maternal mortality and maternal morbidity for these groups of women are increasing over most states not decreasing. We need people who recognize this and who have the desire to take action to create a health care system and culture that value the lives of women of color and the women of color in the LGBTQ community.
Women of color need better access to care for all their reproductive needs when they choose to have children and they choose not to have children. We suffer greatly when our basic healthcare and civil rights are neglected by society as a whole. Please partner with Sister Song to improve the lives of women of color and the LGBTQ community.
Thank you Sister Song for all your great work in the community ! physician, author, activist & mother of two future women of color activists, Indigo
